In a central location amid Unesco World heritage de Beemster, you will find the impeccable farm “De Uilenhoeve”: a captivating, luxurious state, where working and living come together in a very sustainable way. Located in the golden triangle between Amsterdam, Hoorn and Alkmaar, the traditional Dutch farmhouse truly breathes history.
Once built in 1640 and completely rebuilt in 2007, the preservation of the architectural style, together with comfort, luxury, sustainability and energy-efficient construction has remained an important starting point. And that appeared to be more than successful: the farm developed into an authentic house where historic meets contemporary.
De Uilenhoeve is located on a magnificent yard that fully characterizes the nature of de Beemster. On the plot of 11,515 m2, you will find a large fruit orchard with beautiful, expansive views around the thatched farmhouse.
The farm is built with handmade, facing bricks and its facade proudly bears its name: “De Uilenhoeve”.
The inside of the farm has all the elements you could wish for; a breath-taking oak beam, large living room, beamed ceiling, Burgundian dales, antique tiles, oak floors, authentic whites, and beautifully crafted hardwood frames. (The overall aesthetic feels fresh and elegant: a combination that evokes instant class.)
This characteristic farmhouse has the following layout:
Through the spacious entrance, you will reach the living room via double glass doors. There you have a direct view of the farm’s eye-catcher: a great oak truss, standing in middle of the large, cosy living room. The living room consists of one large, open room of 250 m2. Timeless, historic elements such as the antique tiles and Burgundian dales with under floor heating can be found over the entire living area. The impressive beamed ceilings, exclusive staircase and the extensive loft (which runs around the entire farm) complete the picture.
The handmade, wonderfully large, luxurious kitchen with its Belgian hard stone countertop and an island consisting of a large stove, invites you to prepare the most culinary delights. The dining area, which contains beautiful views, lends itself as a pleasant lunch and dinner spot.
Evenings can be spend relaxing in front of the stunning fireplace or in the spacious, comfortable area near the television. On the ground floor, you will also find access to the custom designed library, toilet with authentic English sanitary facilities, technical room and fitness with sauna and shower. Everything has been thought of.
Then we would like to take you to the first floor, with its five spacious bedrooms and two luxurious bathrooms including double sinks, a shower, and separate toilet. Here, too, the antique tiles, oak floors, authentic whites and English sanitary ware return. The main bedroom with its unique beam structure and French balcony is equipped with air-conditioning, an ensuite bathroom and a walk- in closet.
The entire farm is built with a ‘sustainable eye’, and therefore possesses over energy label A. There is a heat recovery system, a geothermal heat pump that cools in the summer and the adjacent Kapberg counts 110 solar panels. Therefore you will have no energy costs. Additionally, all rooms have the comfort of their own thermostat. Besides, the farm has a central vacuum system, several smoke detectors, an alarm system, camera security and Fiber Optic Internet.
The well-kept garden is located around the farm and is surrounded by greenery and ditches that create unprecedented privacy. You can reach the terraces through the French doors connected to the living room. Outside, you will also find a gas installation with well ditch: a characteristic, authentic detail of Unesco World heritage de Beemster. There is also a fully insulated shed on the plot, including sanitary facilities and a large log cabin where you can park the cars.
The barn on the plot is currently used as an office. Both living and working is possible within this entire object. The office is divided into several rooms.
All amenities (such as air-conditioning, a kitchen and various sanitary facilities) can be found here. At the back of the office, inside the stable, there is a second part that can be used for all kinds of purposes. Storage, horse stables, extended office spaces: it is all possible.
This house can also be bought without the office. Please ask us about the possibilities.
